Chicagoland Photographer | Heidi & Bob's Engagement Session

When Heidi was on the hunt for her wedding photographer she googled NWI Photographers and voila she found me! She told me my work really 'spoke' to her. Music to my ears. After a bit of phone tag, we finally met at Starbucks and clicked right away.

We found many things to talk about besides her wedding...cars, kids, fashion! I love Heidi's vintage inspired style and that they are both so much into old cars (I know nothing about them but always loved them! We love going to the car show around the square!).

An hour or two later it was a done deal!

In October we decided to do her engagement session. We met at the old US 30 Drag Strip where Bob's dad used to race. The Chevelle as a prop was pretty sweet!

We had the perfect afternoon, the weather was amazing which in NW Indiana is not always the case. Later we went to a favorite spot in Valpo for a few more pictures. I hadn't met Bob before that day, but the way Heidi spoke about him, I knew it would be fun. Let's be honest THE MAN is never as into it as THE GIRL but I think he came around and enjoyed himself (hopefully!). I loved their playful chemistry and how they tease each other!

Who knew that a random conversation online 8 years ago about old cars would turn into this? At the time I was in Wisconsin and Bob was in Indiana. Our friendship grew over the years and after a lot of wooing on Bob’s part and some pushing from one of my friends, he talked me into a visit. Which turned into another visit a few years later. We dated long distance for 2 years and then my daughter and I moved down here.

A year later he proposed at home one night after a car cruise. The proposal surprised me so much that I asked him if he was serious...a few times. We both grew up with car backgrounds which is what brought us together. We enjoy going to local car shows and cruise nights with the Chevelle. We are also big Chicago Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks fans.

Wedding Bells are about to ring for their May wedding! It's going to be at the Courthouse in Crown Point. I am super excited because I haven't done a wedding there for a couple of years!
